Community and Local Benefits

PfR and Reaps Moss Ltd are keen to support those local communities living closest to the turbines that we build and operate.  The agreed standard at the time that the Reaps Moss project was granted planning permission was £1,000/MW/year, which represents a fund of £10,000 per year, or £255,000 over the expected 25 year lifespan of the project.   This amount represents the minimum that will be paid into the Reaps Moss Community Benefit Fund, with the potential for additional funds in years when the performance of the turbines is better than expected.

There will be a single funding round each year.  Grants of between £250 and £5,000 are available for community projects in the Fund area.  The Fund will provide both capital and revenue funding.

Local groups that have a written constitution, a set of rules or a governing document and a bank account with two signatories.  Individuals and commercial organisations cannot apply.

To apply you need to complete a simple online application form that is available on GrantScape’s website.  The process is paper-free, simple to use and you don’t need to provide any supplementary documents.

A copy of the full funding criteria and details of how to apply can be found on the GrantScape website:
