Buoyant Moored Devices

There are various kinds of device in this category and others are still being developed. Each floats on or just below the surface of the water and is anchored to the sea floor.

Part of the machine is moved by the waves and part of it is fixed by the mooring (anchor) and the tension between these creates the power. How this is done varies between the different devices.

An example of a buoyant moored device is the Salter Duck.
