Community and Local Benefits

In December 2015, Partnerships for Renewables completed the construction of the 11-turbine wind farm at Crook Hill.  The project, which is now fully operations, has the capacity to power 26,000 average UK homes each year.  The owners of the project, Crook Hill Properties Limited, will donate £35,000 each year for the life of the project, 20-25 years.

The Fund is going managed by national grant-making charity, GrantScape.

In advance of contruction beginning at Crook Hill, we also made a single contribution of £50,000 towards supporting renewable energy or energy efficiency projects at St John & St Michael Church of England Primary School and within the wider community around Shawforth.

There will be a single funding round each year.  Grants of between £250 and £10,000 are available for community projects in the Fund area.  The Fund will provide both capital and revenue funding.

Local groups that have a written constitution, a set of rules or a governing document and a bank account with two signatories.  Individuals and commercial organisations cannot apply.

To apply you need to complete a simple online application form that is available on GrantScape’s website.  The process is paper-free, simple to use and you don’t need to provide any supplementary documents.

A copy of the full funding criteria and details of how to apply can be found on the GrantScape website:
